Internal Funding Opportunities

Each year the Provost requests nominations for the position of GLC Research Professor from the various departments. Evidence of the accomplishments of the nominee, such as books, published papers and other creative works, must be submitted. The nominee's reputation as a research scholar must be substantiated by written statements from recognized authorities in the nominee's field of research employed at other universities. After all data are accumulated, the Research Council working with the Vice President for Research (VPR), has the responsibility of summarizing the evaluations of the qualifications of all nominees and deciding who should be recommended to the President and to the Board of Regents for the Research Professorship.

The VPR provides the funds for the special research assistance. This year each George Lynn Cross Research Professor received $6,000.
