    Radioisotope Usage And Biohazardous Waste


    OU Department of Radiation Safety

    The University maintains a broad license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for utilization of radioactive materials on the Norman Campus. Information concerning use of such material can be obtained from Dick Trim , Radiation Safety Officer, Nuclear Engineering Laboratory, Room 112, 325-0820.

    Only radioactive materials need clearance; however, there are special rules for anyone who generates hazardous wastes. Disposal of hazardous chemicals must be in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. Contact the Environmental Health & Safety Office, Trent H. Brown , Environmental Health & Safety Officer, at 325-5147 for specific details.
