Norman and Tulsa campus EDGE proposals must formally request
sharing of indirect costs to be eligible for submission.
The cost sharing narrative must specifically address a) how
the proposed EDGE effort will complement an existing program
of externally sponsored research and b) lead to continued
or new external funding.

Additionally,
as described in the OU EDGE calendar (link), principal investigators
requesting institutional sharing of indirect costs also must
submit to OU a 5-page pre-proposal, the contents of which
will be described in a subsequent email announcement. This
pre-proposal will not be evaluated, rated or ranked for eligibility
of submission other than approval of the indirect cost waiver.
Faculty failing to submit the narrative may still submit an
EDGE proposal but will have to identify sources for IDC recovery.
